About Mark Cornwall

MARK S. CORNWALL lives in Summerland, California. After graduating from UCSB in philosophy, he went to Alaska to work in the woods as a logger. He married, had a child, went to law school, divorced, then climbed six of the Seven Summits, the last one being Kilimanjaro, which he climbed with his wife, D’Arcy, in the year 2000.

Between then and now, Mark filled his life with adventures. Writing came later in life. The only “writing” Mark did as a trial attorney for 33 years, were briefs for the State and Federal Appellate Courts. But as great as that success was, it was put to an immediate end by a stroke in 2015. That’s when Mark was set free from his legal obligations to write what he always wanted to write about: true travel and adventure stories.

“I always dreamt of being a writer but was too busy writing as an attorney.  Legal briefs are not written, they’re regurgitated. It wasn’t until the stroke forced me to push for the stars that I found my literary voice.”

Now such titles as TRAVELS WITH D’ARCY “To Alaska and Back”; MY SEVEN SUMMITS “A Stroke is Upon Me”; FRACTURED FAMILY; and THE FOOL’S FOLLY, are all available for your pleasure.
